Emerald Ash Borer Treatment

What Is the Emerald Ash Borer?

The emerald ash borer is an invasive insect that feeds on ash trees and threatens their survival. It was introduced to North America in 2002 and quickly spread to several areas, namely Montréal and Gatineau.

Since this beetle continues to attack ash trees in many cities across Quebec, treatment is essential in at-risk areas.

Our Emerald Ash Borer Treatments

If you have an ash tree growing in an infested area, you can protect it with treatments such as TreeAzinMD and FraxiProtec®, but time is of the essence.

TreeAzinMD is the primary treatment for EAB. It’s injected between June and August at the base of the tree, keeping it protected for about two years, For maximum efficiency, it should be used when the tree is relatively unaffected (<30% dead branches).

FraxiProtec® can be used in between TreeAzin treatments to reduce the amount of ash borer beetles around the tree.

Costs vary depending on tree size (diameter at breast height). An assessment will help determine the best course of action.

Left untreated, emerald ash borer infestations can be fatal. The insect disrupts sap flow, causing rapid and irreversible damage to your ash tree.
